Marriage. Work. The house. The laundry. The meals. The appointments. The errands. The relationships we want to nurture. The dreams God has placed on our hearts. The little things that somehow become big things when they all need our attention at once.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And sometimes, it feels like every single plate is spinning at the same time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For me, this season looks like being a wife, a mother, and a business owner. My business has several different avenues that I am constantly tending to, while at the same time, staying&nbsp;home full time with my children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Most days, there is no clean separation between the different parts of my life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I may be answering a business message while someone needs a snack. I may be working on the website while listening to a story one of my kids desperately wants to tell me. I may start the day with a list of things I need to accomplish and end it realizing that motherhood required most of my attention instead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And I have had to learn something important:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Not everything has to be perfectly balanced to be meaningful.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">We Carry More Than People See<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I think women carry so much that often goes unnoticed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are the physical things we do, of course. But there is also the mental load.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Remembering who needs what.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thinking about what is running low in the house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keeping track of schedules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Planning meals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Answering messages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Making appointments.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Worrying about our children.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thinking about our husbands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thinking about work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thinking about whether we are giving enough attention to everyone and everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes our bodies may finally sit down at the end of the day, but our minds are still carrying a dozen different things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And somewhere in the middle of all of that, it can become very easy to wonder:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Am I doing enough?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Am I doing any of this well?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Am I giving my children enough?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Am I being a good wife?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Am I working hard enough?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><em>Why does everyone else seem to have it together better than I do?<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you have ever asked yourself those questions, I want you to hear this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>You are probably doing much better than you think you are.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Your Children Do Not Need a Perfect Mother<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the greatest pressures we can put on ourselves as mothers is believing our children need us to do everything perfectly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They don&#8217;t.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They need us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They need the mother who sits beside them when they need comfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The mother who makes mistakes and apologizes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The mother who sometimes serves an easy dinner because the day was long.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The mother who may have laundry sitting in a basket but stops what she is doing to listen to their story.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The mother who is tired but keeps showing up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There will always be something else that needs to be done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But our children will not remember whether every room of the house was spotless.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They will remember how home felt.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They will remember being loved.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They will remember being safe.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They will remember that Mom was there.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And sometimes being present means allowing one of those spinning plates to wobble for a little while.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">There Is Grace for the Things You Didn&#8217;t Finish<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I love a productive day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I love checking things off a list.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I love feeling like I accomplished what I set out to do.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But motherhood has repeatedly reminded me that my plans are not always what the day requires.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some days I can accomplish a tremendous amount.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Other days, the greatest thing I accomplish is caring for my family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And I am learning that both kinds of days have value.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is grace for the unanswered email.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is grace for the laundry that gets folded tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is grace for the project that takes longer than you expected.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is grace for the season when your children need more from you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There is grace for the woman who is trying to faithfully tend to what God has placed in front of her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">We are not machines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And God never asked us to prove our worth through how much we can accomplish in a day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Christ Is Our Rest<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This is the part I have to remind myself of again and again:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Rest is not only found when everything is finished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Because truthfully, everything will never be finished.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There will always be another load of laundry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another order.&nbsp;Another email.&nbsp;Another grocery list.&nbsp;Another appointment.&nbsp;Another task waiting for tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If we wait until life is completely quiet before we allow ourselves to experience peace, we may wait forever.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus offers us something different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cCome unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.\u201d<br>\u2014 Matthew 11:28<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I love that Jesus does not say,&nbsp;<em>Come to me once you have everything under control.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He says come when you are weary.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Come when you are carrying too much.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Come when your mind is full.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Come when you don&#8217;t know how you are going to get everything done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Come when you feel like one more responsibility may be the plate that finally falls.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Come to Me.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our rest is not found in an empty calendar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Our rest is found in Christ.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Peace in the Middle of the Busy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I think sometimes we imagine peace as a life without chaos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A quiet house.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">An empty schedule.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No deadlines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">No one calling \u201cMom!\u201d from the other room.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">But maybe peace looks different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maybe peace is knowing that Christ is with us while the house is loud.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maybe rest is whispering a prayer while folding laundry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maybe it is turning worship music on while making dinner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maybe it is pausing in the middle of a busy morning to remember that God is still God, even when everything around us feels rushed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maybe it is trusting that we do not have to carry tomorrow while we are still living today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Jesus told us:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cPeace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you.\u201d<br>\u2014 John 14:27<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">His peace does not depend on our circumstances becoming peaceful first.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That is what makes it so precious.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">You Are Allowed to Put a Plate Down<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Not every plate has to keep spinning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some things can wait.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some things can be simplified.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some invitations can be declined.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some expectations can be released.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Some seasons require us to focus more heavily on one area of life than another.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Balance does not always mean giving equal attention to everything every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Sometimes balance simply means prayerfully recognizing what matters most&nbsp;<strong>right now<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There may be days when motherhood gets almost all of you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There may be days when work requires more focus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There may be seasons when your marriage needs additional attention.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And there may be moments when the most faithful thing you can do is stop and rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That does not mean you are failing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It means you are human.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">To the Woman Who Feels Like She Isn&#8217;t Doing Enough<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">I hope you know how much you are already doing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maybe no one saw you pack the lunches.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Or answer the emails.&nbsp;Or soothe the crying child.&nbsp;Or pray quietly over your children after they went to sleep.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">God did.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He sees the work that no one applauds.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He sees the mental load.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He sees the exhaustion.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He sees your heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And He is not standing over you with another checklist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He is inviting you closer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">So when life feels full and the plates feel heavy, remember this:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You do not have to carry everything alone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You do not have to do everything perfectly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You do not have to earn rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Christ is your rest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Christ is your peace.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Christ is your comfort.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And when everything around you feels like it needs your attention, you can still turn your heart toward Him and hear His invitation:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Come to Me.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You are doing a good job.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keep loving your family.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Keep tending faithfully to what God has placed in your hands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Give yourself grace for what doesn&#8217;t get done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And when you are tired, return to the One who never asked you to carry it all by yourself.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p
